About Explain to Kids
A Dad's Journey
It all started with my curious 5-year-old daughter Astrid. Like many children her age, she had questions about everything - from why the sky is blue to how airplanes stay up in the air. Her endless curiosity was both delightful and challenging.
"Dad, why does it rain?" "How do phones work?" "Why do we need to sleep?" Each question was an opportunity to share knowledge, but I quickly realized that explaining complex concepts to a child requires a special approach.
The Challenge
As a parent, I wanted to nurture this curiosity while making sure my explanations were:
- Simple enough for a child to understand
- Accurate and not oversimplified
- Engaging and memorable
- Free of complex jargon
The Solution
That's when I decided to build Explain to Kids. I wanted to create a tool that could help parents, teachers, and anyone who wants to explain complex ideas to children in a way that makes sense to them.
This tool is my way of sharing what I've learned about breaking down complex topics into child-friendly explanations. It's designed to help spark those wonderful "aha!" moments that make a child's eyes light up with understanding.
Join Our Journey
Every child's question is an opportunity to learn and grow together. I hope this tool helps you navigate those curious questions and creates meaningful learning moments with the children in your life.
Because sometimes the best way to understand something is to explain it to a 5-year-old.
